Why we are here!

When I began working with wood, and power tools, many of my projects involved creating household furniture and objects that reflected our country or rustic lifestyle. What I found was a real shortage of plans and ideas that were either overly simplistic, or overly ambitious and that really didn't reflect our style (or frankly in the early years didn't support the tools and skills I possessed!).

I also found that many of the hints and tips involved that piece of heavy machinery I couldn't really justify (particularly to my wife). If you are married though I would strongly suggest you get your spouse or significant other on board with Home Projects Rule No. 1. If you are not familiar with this rule, it simply states (with a number of variations) that " Every New Project requires a new tool!" I can see many of the experienced home project people nodding their heads! To that end, I will be offering hints and tips on how to get the most out of your existing tools, as well as periodic reviews of tools I have found particularly noteworthy or in some cases less than helpful.

You will also find woodworking plans here. Some of the basic plans we will be offering for free in a pdf format, or if you would like the full size printed plan we will have that available for a small fee. We also feature links to some of the suppliers we have found over the years that have a quality product and great service.

Over the years we have discovered some companies that while not quite wood working related, fall into the category of this would look or work great for with my project. We have a number of links on here to our store where we have made these items available to you.
